Orkan Kyrill

As reported by many online newspapers, Hurricane Kyrill (the word comes from an old Greek word meaning The Lord), was the most severe storm to hit Germany since 20 years. The highest wind recorded was 169kph in Brocken mountain in the region of Harz. (Radio news was saying even as strong as 200kph.) Other online newspapers were reporting that gale force was reaching as high as 190-200 kph along the coasts of UK. In Germany, train and bus services were cancelled and electricity was cut off in some cities. Due to the weather forecast and warning, we opted to stay home, cancelled our Thursday film watching day, stayed indoors and waited for the storm. And what a view and sounds we got from our balcony! I "enjoyed" experiencing my first "brown-out"in this country which lasted for about two hours. (My neighbors surely heard me clapping when the lights came back.) As there was no possibility of heating the milk to enjoy a cup of Italian thick chocolate, I took a glass of white wine, heard the sounds of the howling winds and the piano music of our neighbor who lives one floor below us. It was simply a meditative mood with only candles burning in our flat while hubby got so upset thinking about his unsaved data when the current was suddenly cut off. No blogging, no phone, mobile low-bat. Really, what could one do without power?

Hello, thank you for coming by my blog and posting your comment on 18th. It truly encouraged me a lot.

Oh, you had hurricane? I hope everything is ok with you and your family. well...you seemed to rather enjoy it. That's good for you.
The climate change has been the worldwide and urgent issue now. Probably, what we need to focus on is to 'live simply' (um..no blogging will be a problem,though...)
